SolTrans seeks applicants to fill vacancies on the Public Advisory Committtee

SolTrans Public Advisory Committee

SolTrans is seeking applicants in order to fill three vacancies on the Public Advisory Committee. Anyone interested in being considered for appointment may obtain an Application Form from one of the following:

For residents of Benicia: Contact the Office of the City Clerk of Benicia, 250 East L Street, Benicia, CA 94510, by calling (707) 746-4200, or by emailing the City Clerk at jyork@ci.benicia.ca.us.

For residents of Vallejo: Contact the Office of the City Clerk of Vallejo, 555 Santa Clara Street, Vallejo CA 94590, by calling (707) 648-4527 or by emailing the City Clerk at dabrahamson@ci.vallejo.ca.us.

To be eligible for appointment, persons must be residents of the City of Benicia or Vallejo. The City Council of Benicia will appoint one member of the public and the City Council of Vallejo will appoint two members of the public with demonstrated expertise or special interest in transit issues to fill the vacancies.

The Public Advisory Committee serves as an advisory committee to the SolTrans Board and reviews and comments to the SolTrans Board on the following matters:

  • Service and fare adjustments
  • Development of Short Range Transit Plans
  • Review of SolTrans annual work plan

Applications will be received until vacancies are filled.

Service Changes Effective July 1, 2012

On Sunday July 1, 2012 SolTrans will implement system wide changes impacting nearly all existing services. Although the changes constitute approximately a 10% reduction in service, riders will see many improvements to the system that include:

  • Direct access from Northeast Vallejo to Gateway Plaza
  • Improved reliability and connections between buses
  • Sunday service that serves Vallejo and Benicia, and connects to BART
  • Continued connections to Diablo Valley College
  • Direct service to Discovery Kingdom
  • Improved Dial-A-Ride in Benicia through allocation of additional resources
  • Implementation of a single regional monthly pass allowing travel on all SolTrans commuter routes
  • Implementation of both Regional and Local Day Passes for fixed route and Dial-A-Ride
