Rider Alert: Route 2 Bus Stops

Route 2 Bus Stops

The City of Vallejo has completed the road work on Sacramento Street between Georgia Street and Capitol Street.  The route deviation will no longer be in effect, and the Route 2 will resume its normal route on Sacramento Street.

These three permanent bus stops will be served:

  • Sacramento Street south of Florida Street (inbound)
  • Sacramento Street south of Virginia Street (inbound and outbound)

These two temporary stops will no longer be served:

  • Santa Clara Street in front of City Hall
  • Santa Clara Street in front of Community Bank

Route 78 Rider Alert: No BART service between Lafayette & Pleasant Hill

SolTrans passengers utilizing Route 78 to Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek BART stations, please note that BART will not be providing service between Pleasant Hill and Lafayette.

Effective Wednesday, October 23, 2013 between noon and 4:00 p.m.

In cooperation with the ongoing NTSB investigation, on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from noon to 3:30 pm, BART will need to operate a bus bridge between Lafayette Station and Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre Station. This means there will be no BART train service between Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill stations during the 3.5 hour period, customers will need to use the bus bridge instead. Riders travelling on BART to stations east beyond Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre will be able to transfer onto a BART train at Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre to ride the train to their final destinations.

The bus bridge will operate in both directions. Buses will be staged to meet trains which will be operating every 15 minutes.

There is a station closure at Walnut Creek due to a problem currently being investigated by NTSB. There will be no train service between Lafayette and Pleasant Hill between 12:00-4:00. A temporary bus bridge will be established with buses looping and stopping between Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill stations.

SolTrans will participate as a sponsor, exhibitor, and presenter for the 2013 Benicia Clean Tech Expo, Friday October 18th and Saturday October 19th 2013 at the Benicia Clock Tower, 1189 Washington St, Benicia. The theme of the 2013 Benicia Clean Tech Expo is “Clean Transportation”.

SolTrans will also operate a fixed route, special event shuttle running every 20 minutes between the Benicia Clock Tower (location of Expo), Arts Benicia, and the Benicia Historical Museum.

Route 3 Bus Stop Relocated for Safety

Route 3 Bus Stop Relocation

Effective October 14, 2013

The bus stop at Maritime Academy Drive & Sonoma Boulevard has been moved 200 feet South on Maritime Academy Drive.

This bus stop has been relocated for safety as the previous stop was too close to the intersection and interfered with the movement of traffic.

Press Release: SolTrans to Provide Supplemental Service in the Event of BART Strike

In the event of a Bay Area Rapid Transit “BART” labor strike, potentially occurring Friday, October 11, 2013, SolTrans will provide supplemental bus service beyond the del Norte BART station in El Cerrito to the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco (at the intersection of Beale Street and Howard Street) during peak weekday commute hours.

In the Event of a BART Strike: Route 78 Temporary Bus Stops at Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek

Route 78 Temporary Bus Stops during BART Strike

A BART strike may occur during the week of October 13th, 2013

In the event of a BART Strike, SolTrans will operate regular Route 78 service to Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek.  Buses will not enter the BART stations, but will park at the temporary bus stops indicated below.

  • SolTrans will share a bus stop with County Connection and other operators as shown.
  • Road supervisors will be at the stops to direct passengers.

The Pleasant Hill Temporary Bus Stop will be on Oak Road near Coggins Drive as shown below:

 

The Walnut Creek Temporary Bus Stop will be on Pringle Avenue near Riviera Avenue as shown below:

In the Event of a BART Strike: SolTrans to Operate Supplemental Route 80X Service to San Francisco

A BART strike may occur during the week of October 13th, 2013.

In the event of a BART Strike, SolTrans will operate supplemental service to the San Francisco Transbay Terminal during peak morning and afternoon weekday commutes.

Please note:   This service will operate during the first week of the strike.  The supplemental service will be re-evaluated should the strike continue beyond one week.

  • SolTrans will provide supplemental Route 80X service from the Vallejo Transit Center to the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station and on to the San Francisco Temporary Transbay Terminal with 3 outbound trips in the morning and 3 inbound trips in the afternoon.
  • Morning trips will stop at El Cerrito del Norte BART station and afternoon trips will travel directly to the Vallejo Transit Center, but may stop at El Cerrito del Norte BART station upon request.
  • SolTrans passes are valid for this route and our standard fare policy applies — Adult $5; Youth (6-18) $4; and Senior/Medicare/Disabled $2.50.
  • The Route 80 schedule will remain the same.

Temporary Route 80X Bus Stop at San Francisco Transbay Terminal 

The temporary bus stop for the Route 80X at the San Francisco Transbay Terminal is on the southwest corner of the terminal, mid-block on Beale Street, near AC Transit’s Routes P and V bus stops.

SolTrans will share a bus stop with AC Transit and other operators as shown.  Road supervisors will be at the stop to direct passengers.

 

REGULARLY SCHEDULED ROUTE 80

Passengers needing to travel to the El Cerrito del Norte BART station will continue to take SolTrans Route 80. The Route 80 will maintain it’s regular schedule to the El Cerrito del Norte BART station, but will make use of a temporary bus stop during the strike.

The temporary bus stop for the Route 80 is near the El Cerrito del Norte BART station on the northeast corner of the Cutting Blvd/Kearny Street intersection, just north of the BART station.

SolTrans will share a bus stop with AC Transit and other operators as shown.  Road supervisors will be at the stop to direct passengers.

Routes 15, 17, 76, 78 and Dial-A-Ride

Effective Tuesday, October 8, 2013
 

Both sheltered bus stops at Military West and 1st Street (in-bound and out-bound) will not be served during construction near City Park in Benicia.

Temporary bus stops will be located at Military West and 2nd Streets.

Construction is expected to continue through October 10, 2013. Service will resume when construction is complete.
