Revised System Improvement Proposals — We Want Your Feedback!


SolTrans has revised the system improvement route proposals based on public input.  To review and comment on the revisions, come to one of our outreach events, or review the proposals at the links below and provide your comments in the comment form:

Below are summaries of the proposals for each Route.  Sections in bold, white font were revised from the initial proposal responses.

Short Term – January 2015

1 30 minute weekday service all-day
2 30 minute weekday service all-day
4 Bi-directional service from Sereno Transit Center via upper Tuolumne. Discontinue loop serving CVS at Sonoma Blvd. ·Discontinue Sereno Blvd. segment between Broadway and Tuolumne St.
5 Combine branched service into single route on portions of Sereno & Redwood
6 Split one-way loop route into two separate, bi-directional routes (one operating on Tennessee St. and the other on Benicia Rd.)   Discontinue Ascot/Columbus Parkway service
7 Operate 30 minute weekday service all-day
76/78 Integrate Route 76 into Route 78 for productivity purposes, with three roundtrips including Diablo Valley College and Sun Valley Mall . Continue to serve Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek BART
85 Streamline express service in Vallejo, with non-stop service between Vallejo Transit Center, Sereno Transit Center & Fairgrounds (Six Flags/Marine World).  Operate express service along I-80 with stops at Solano Community College in Fairfield, Fairfield Transportation Center and Solano Mall

Short Term – August 2015

2 Bi-directional service via Corcoran. Shift route to Fairgrounds Drive and turn bus at Solano Community College. Discontinue service along Columbus Parkway loop. Bi-directional service for Gateway Plaza
7 Move bus stops along Columbus Parkway (at Hilary & Ascot)

 Long Term – After August 2014

1 Bi-directional service at Sonoma Blvd.
3 Bi-directional service for south Vallejo. Discontinue Glen Cove Landing segment
80s Discontinue due to low ridership. Consider “lifeline service” between  Benicia & Vallejo on Sunday  to provide access to BART/shopping for Benicia citizens
80 Reinstate Route 80 Service to El Cerrito del Norte BART on Sundays, in conjunction with discontinuing the Route 80S
85 Streamline service to run on SR37 and I-80, making stops at Vallejo Transit Center, Sereno Transit Center, Six Flags/Fairgrounds and American Canyon/Hiddenbrook when freeway ramp stops are introduced in coordination with the Solano Corridor improvements.  Consider discontinuing Solano Town Center/Solano Mall stop.

Long Term – When Funds Are Available

3, 4, 5, 6 Operate 30 minute weekday service all-day
All Routes Extend weekday hours of service to 10 pm. Add Sunday service

NOTICE: City of Vallejo Sealing Top Level of Parking Garage

Monday, September 15 through Friday September 26, 2014

Please note that the City of Vallejo will be closing the top level of the Waterfront Parking Garage for maintenance sealing work before the start of the rainy season. The project is expected to last two weeks, from Monday, September 15 through Friday, September 26.

Come visit our booth at the Vallejo Transit Center tomorrow!  Proposals will be on display and staff will be available to answer questions and receive your feedback.

SolTrans is studying route enhancements that will make our service more customer friendly, reliable, and direct for riders.  Routes proposed for improvement include local routes 1 through 7 and multi-zone routes 76, 78, 80S and 85.

Through the month of August 2014, SolTrans staff has been out in the community hosting open houses to hear your ideas on how our transit network should look.  The proposals include increasing weekday frequencies to 30 minutes all day on Routes 1, 2, and 7, along with a number of other enhancements designed to make service more convenient and user-friendly.  To see the proposals, please click HERE.
