Solano County Transit (SolTrans), in partnership with the Solano Transportation Authority (countywide planning agency that is funding the service with Regional Measure 2 bridge toll funding), is implementing a new Solano Express commuter bus line, Route 82, effective January 2, 2017.
Route 82 will complement enhanced ferry service that the Water Emergency Transportation Agency (WETA) is implementing on January 1, 2017 for their customers traveling between Vallejo and San Francisco. The increased number of ferry trips will replace Route 200 bus service on weekdays, except for the latest trips of the night. Route 82 will offer an alternate solution and meet the needs of customers who utilize those last trips of the day and need a direct ride between Vallejo and San Francisco. The Adult Fare for a one-way trip will be $10.00.
Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has been the public transportation provider for south Solano County since July 2011. SolTrans provides local and regional fixed routes, complementary paratransit, dial-a-ride service, and subsidized taxi programs. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that is governed by a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, Solano County’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and a representative from the Solano Transportation Authority.
