Local Routes Reenvisioned

SolTrans is evaluating its local routes, General Public Dial-A-Ride and Local Taxi Scrip in order to restructure these services. We need to hear from you–yes YOU–to make sure we make the right changes. Join us at our upcoming public meetings.

Press Release: SolTrans Vallejo Admiral Ticket Giveaway!

Vallejo Admiral Ticket Giveaway

June 25th, 2018, 3 p.m. at the Vallejo Transit Center

VALLEJO, CA – Heads up! Come to the Vallejo Transit Center at 3 p.m. on June 25th for a chance to receive free tickets to see the Vallejo Admirals!

It’s baseball season and Vallejoans need their fix! SolTrans will be giving away a limited supply of free Admirals tickets, and will also be presenting you with opportunities to meet the players and get autographs!

“Who doesn’t love America’s favorite pastime?” says Mandi Renshaw, SolTrans Program Analyst II. “The staff at SolTrans is excited to support their local team.”

The Vallejo Admirals are defending their title as 2017 Pacific Association Champions, so come support your local team, and maybe meet them as well! SolTrans has been longtime supporters of our Admirals, so don’t strike out! Come join your community at this grand slam event.

SolTrans provides local and regional fixed routes, complementary paratransit, dial-a-ride service, and subsidized taxi programs. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that is governed by a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, Solano County’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and a representative from the Solano Transportation Authority.

Free Special Event Service for Benicia Torchlight Parade

SOLTRANS ANNOUNCES FREE SPECIAL EVENT SERVICE FOR BENICIA TORCHLIGHT PARADE

BENICIA, CA — SolTrans is proud to provide FREE Round Trip Bus Service for the Torchlight Parade in Downtown Benicia on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Avoid the gridlock and parking challenges by taking routes Parade Ride 15 or Parade Ride 17 between the hours of 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm.

The Torchlight Parade will begin at 6:30 pm along First Street and will include dancers, floats, clowns, and entertainment. Look out for our SolTrans Bus in the Parade!

July 2018 Service Improvements, Routes and Fares

EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, JULY 1, 2018

Routes in affect:

New Yellow Line: The Yellow Line is replacing the Route 78.  Printable Yellow Line Schedule

  • Summary of changes, the Yellow Line will:
    • No longer serve the stop at Napa and Curtola East and Westbound trips.
    • Pick up at all current Route 78 stops on Military West in Benicia, including the stops at the high school at 11th Street on East and Westbound trips.
    • No longer serve Diablo Valley College directly, but will continue to have stops on Contra Costa Blvd.
    • Better transfers with BART and Vallejo Ferry.
    • Only serve Pleasant Hill BART weekday A.M. trips
    • Walnut Creek BART served on all trips

Route 80 and 85 Minor time updates: The last two trips of the P.M. Weekday Route 80 and 85 were adjusted by 5 minutes to better serve transfers from the 85 to the 80.

Route 85 will now depart from Fairfield Solano Mall at:

  • 9:02pm and arrive at VTC at 9:50 (Route 85 will arrive at VTC prior to 9:50pm Rt 80 departure)
  • 10:02pm and arrive at VTC at 10:50 (Route 85 will arrive at VTC prior to 10:50pm Rt 80 departure)

Route 80 will now depart VTC at:

  • 9:50pm and arrive at El Cerrito del Norte BART at 10:13pm
  • 10:50pm and arrive at El Cerrito del Norte BART at 11:13pm

 

SOLANOEXPRESS FARE CHANGES

  • New Reduced  Outside County Express 31-Day Pass: New pass for Seniors 65+, disabled and Medicare qualified
  • New Solano County Travel Express Fares: Fares on the SolTrans Route 85 are reduced. See Fare Structure below for all pass types.
    • SolanoExpress 31-Day paper passes and paper Day Passes are valid on all SolanoExpress buses and local systems operated by SolTrans and FAST (Fairfield and Suisun Transit) .
    • Some trips require additional fare.
  • CLIPPER
    • New fares will be in effect on Clipper July 1, 2018.
    • Clipper SolanoExpress 31-Day passes will be valid systemwide in the near future, however, in the interim these passes will be valid on the system for which it were purchased. For example:  A 31-Day pass  Yellow, 80, or 85 Lines (operated by SolTrans) will not be valid on the  Blue or Green Express (operated by FAST).
    • SolanoExpress Day Passes will not be available on Clipper.

Service Alert: Route 78 Bus Stops No Longer Served

Effective Sunday, July 1, 2018

Due to the Route 78 transition into the Yellow Line, these bus stops will not be served by Route 78 effective Sunday, July 1, 2018.

Stop Discontinuing – Contra Costa Blvd at Firestone (Safeway) in Pleasant Hill

The bus stop at Contra Costa Blvd #715 at Firestone (Safeway), (STOP ID 827008), is proposed to be discontinued.

Please use either the new SolTrans Yellow Line stop at Contra Costa Blvd and Golf Club Road (Wells Fargo), (STOP ID 827009), or the existing SolTrans stop at Contra Costa Blvd & Viking Dr, (Sunvalley Mall), (STOP ID 7004).

Stop Discontinuing – Diablo Valley College

The bus stop at Diablo Valley College, (STOP ID 827005), is proposed to be discontinued.

Riders are asked to please use the new SolTrans Yellow Line stop at Contra Costa Blvd & Golf Club Road (Wells Fargo), (STOP ID 827009).

Stops Discontinuing – Curtola Pkwy & Napa Street

The bus stops at Curtola Pkwy & Napa St. (STOP ID 821014 & 821101) will not be served on the new Yellow Line.

Please use the Vallejo Transit Center, (STOP ID 821001).
