Vallejo, CA – At the 21st Annual Solano Transportation Authority (STA) Awards Dinner, Solano County Transit (SolTrans) was awarded the prestigious honor of being named “Partner of the Year”. This award recognizes the overall performance of an agency outside of STA that improves mobility and other transportation elements throughout Solano County.

This award is a coveted prize and many Solano County transit agencies and transportation services work hard to bring the best service to their communities. To be nominated and to win is a great accomplishment.

“We are so honored and humbled by this award,” said Beth Kranda, Executive Director for SolTrans. “We wake up every day and buckle in not knowing what might happen on the roads and in our community and try to be ready for anything. It’s not always easy, but this makes all of my staffs’ hard work worth it.”

Press Release: SolTrans Bus Driver Wins Transit Employee of the Year

SolTrans Bus Driver Wins Transit Employee of the Year

Vallejo, CA – Cliff Chism, a SolTrans paratransit driver, received one of the highest honors at the 21st Annual Solano Transportation Authority (STA) Awards Dinner.

For over seven years, Cliff has been a bus operator for SolTrans, going back to when the latter was Vallejo Transit. Cliff takes ownership of the quality of service that he delivers every day, going the extra mile to assist customers in maintaining their independence and providing valuable feedback regarding the needs of SolTrans customers. Cliff is appreciated by his co-workers and managers in his role as shop steward for paratransit operators, helping to maintain high morale and taking great care to pass along communication from the company in a clear and concise manner to his peers.

This award recognizes Cliff for his commitment to excellence and outstanding service to the citizens of Solano County.

“We are so proud of Cliff and all of his accomplishments,” said Stephanie Maher, General Manager of National Express Transit (NEXT), the operations contractor for SolTrans bus services. “We have an outstanding team, and this really makes us feel good to be singled out for our hard workers.”

Press Release: FlixBus and SolTrans Announce Partnership

FlixBus and SolTrans Announce Partnership

Vallejo, CA – FlixBus and SolTrans announce a partnership that began with FlixBus service to the Vallejo Transit Center (VTC) on Monday, November 12, 2018. FlixBus will be using the Vallejo Transit Center as an arrival and departure terminal to and from the San Diego area. SolTrans will be permitting FlixBus to use the southeastern-most bus bay but will not be selling tickets or providing services on behalf of FlixBus.

FlixMobility was founded as the start-up FlixBus by three young entrepreneurs in Munich, Germany, who had the vision of making sustainable bus travel both comfortable and affordable. FlixBus was officially launched in 2013 after the deregulation of the German bus market and quickly became the leading long-distance travel provider within the country.

In 2015, FlixBus began expanding internationally with long-distance networks in France, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Croatia, as well as cross-border regular services to Norway, Spain and England. FlixBus USA launched in 2018, providing America with a new alternative in long-distance travel.

Today Flixbus connects 2,000+ destinations in 28 countries, a number which is growing nearly every day. FlixBus aligns with SolTrans’ mission to provide sustainable, comfortable, affordable bus travel to the communities of Vallejo and Benicia. “SolTrans is pleased with this new partnership and we hope it continues to grow.” Said Beth Kranda, SolTrans Executive Director.
