The shuttle operates Monday through Saturday. The schedule and fares can be found here: Route 9 Mare Island.
Fares are free until the end of the demonstration period on May 27.
Experience the service first hand, and explore Mare Island!
The purpose of a demonstration route is to collect information on ridership patterns for a permanent service and evaluate whether enough demand exists to continue service beyond the demonstration period. Staff will continue to work with service partners to determine if funding commitments can be obtained.
May 2016 – Proposed Mare Island Service
The SolTrans Board of Directors authorized release of a proposed new Route 9 serving Mare Island. The route would be implemented no earlier than November 2016.
Summary of Proposed Route 9 Mare Island
The addition of Route 9 Mare Island was proposed to respond to the growing need for service to connect Mare Island to the mainland. The SolTrans Board and staff worked with service partners for over a year to plan Mare Island service. Staff requested the Board approve a service plan for the implementation of the new service.

The proposed route will connect the current major trip generators and attractors on Mare Island, including Touro University, the VA Clinic and North Bay Resource Center, Vallejo Unified School District, Global Center for Success, and the employment locations within the Lennar property. A significant element of this implementation will be the improvement of stop locations to permit pedestrian access.
Funding commitments need to be finalized; such commitments may include pass purchases, capital improvements, and/or operating subsidies.
